A unique horror anthology tackling the modern work landscape through four timely perspectives – the constant hustle culture of a multi-level marketing campaign, the endless repetitiveness of being a gig economy food delivery driver, the online horrors of content moderation and the unionization of a high street coffee shop franchise. What does it mean to be an employee in a world defined by wealth inequality ruled by endlessly greedy oligarchs, one not so far removed from our own. Find out in a movie for anyone who’s ever hated their job, had a bad boss, or felt taken advantage of at work.

«During the pandemic, Ed and I started meeting together in a park where we could write while we socially distanced. Not only did we bond over our love of genre movies, we also both came of age in the punk scene in the 90s where politics and art went hand-in-hand. At a time when most of us were unemployed, it felt natural for us to explore the topic of work as a means to survival. In the past few years, we have watched income inequality rise to a level not seen since the 18th century. We watched as workplace safety declined and worker exploitation rose.
We wanted Grind to be fun and funny but with a point. We wanted it to be cathartic. The best horror comes from real world situations gone terrifyingly askew. Within Grind, we have the story of the side hustle through a multi-level marketing scheme, the minddulling labor of the gig economy through a delivery driver, the rise of increasingly exploitative and abusive labor through a content moderator, and the story of a union fighting back against a massive corporation against all the odds. We had a few rules: our jobs had to be real, the technology and the workers were not evil, and the corporations were evil. Our jobs are real, set in the relatable present, both timeless and of the moment.»
