Inverno. La dottoressa Annika e la figlia diciassettenne Saga si sono appena trasferite dalla Lapponia per il nuovo lavoro di Annika. Il piccolo villaggio con le sue apparentemente infinite notti polari sembra noioso come immaginava Saga. Alla nuova scuola, però, Saga si fa presto dei nuovi amici grazie a Vega, una ragazza dark che si comporta come se si fossero conosciute da sempre. Ma c’è qualcosa che non quadra in questo freddo inverno. Annika si rende conto che qualcosa non va all’ospedale, la piccola comunità è colpita da misteriose morti ed incidenti. Qualcosa va a caccia di notte, e quando il mondo intorno a lei scompare in una bufera di neve, ghiaccio e sangue, l’ultima cosa che vuole sentirsi dire è che manca più di un mese all’alba…

Midwinter. Annika, a medical doctor, and her 17-year-old daughter Saga, have just moved to Lapland for Annika’s new job. The little town with its seemingly endless polar night appears to be just as boring as Saga thought it would be. At her new school, however, Saga quickly meets new friends through Vega, a red and black haired goth girl who acts as though she’s known Saga for years. But things are amiss in this biting winter cold. Annika finds out that there’s something not quite right at the hospital and the little community is struck by mysterious deaths and accidents. There is something hunting in the night, and when the world around her disappears into a maelstrom of snow, ice, and blood, the last thing she wants to hear is that there’s more than a month until dawn…
