Gli alieni invadono Glasgow in questa splatter-comedy firmata dagli emergenti gemelli Nathan e Ben McQuaid. Ispirato ai primi cult-movie di Peter Jackson come Fuori di testa (Bad Taste) e I feebles (Meet the Feebles), il film segue le vicende di Bill, un neolaureato in scienze della comunicazione che fatica a trovare un lavoro.
Proprio durante la sua ricerca di un impiego, il ragazzo si imbatte in un ufficio popolato da bizzarri individui in kilt e cappelli Jimmy, dall’accento decisamente insolito. Si tratta in realtà di un gruppo di alieni mutforma: quando il loro leader ne invia uno a spiarlo, Bill e i suoi migliori amici, Pete e Ronnie, si ritroveranno loro malgrado coinvolti nei piani extraterrestri per la conquista del mondo.
Aliens invade Glasgow in a splatter-comedy from upstart twins Nathan and Ben McQuaid. Inspired by the early Peter Jackson cult items Bad Taste and Meet the Feebles, Bill is a media studies graduate struggling to get a job. His search for employment sees him stumble upon an office filled with strange characters clad in kilts and Jimmy hats who talk in a peculiar manner. They are a group of shape-shifting aliens, and when their leader sends one of them to spy on him, Bill and best friends Pete and Ronnie find themselves embroiled in the aliens’ plans for world domination.
«Fortemente ispirato ai primi film di Peter Jackson, come Fuori di testa (1987) e Splatter – Gli schizzacervelli (1992), Welcome to G-Town è un film horror-comico che si diverte a usare effetti speciali prostetici, splatter e stop-motion.
Negli ultimi mesi abbiamo avuto il piacere di presentare il nostro film a festival di tutto il mondo, tra cui il Frightfest di Londra e il BeyondFest di Los Angeles. Siamo perciò entusiasti di portarlo ora a Trieste e in Italia.
Glasgow è una città con una ricca storia culturale e siamo felicissimi di mostrare al pubblico italiano la nostra città sul grande schermo, splatter incluso.
Abbiamo realizzato questo film con un budget ridottissimo, insieme ai nostri amici, per le strade di Glasgow, quindi poterlo presentare in un festival come il Trieste Science+Fiction è davvero incredibile. Siamo entrambi grandi appassionati di cinema italiano e soprattutto di film horror italiani, quindi siamo entusiasti di essere qui e non vediamo l’ora di vedere la reazione del pubblico.»

Over the past few months we have had the pleasure of showcasing our movie at festivals all over the world including Frightfest in London and BeyondFest in LA. We couldn’t be more excited to now bring our film to Trieste and Italy.
Glasgow is a city with a rich cultural history and we’re so happy to show Italian audiences our home on the big screen – gore and all.
We made this film on a shoestring budget with our friends on the streets of Glasgow so to be able to show it in a festival like Trieste Science+Fiction is really incredible.
We’re both big fans of Italian cinema and especially Italian horror movies so are thrilled to be playing here and can’t wait to see how the audience reacts.»

Nathan and Ben McQuaid are identical twin brother filmmakers from Scotland who directed their first feature film Welcome to G-Town at age 22.
They are known for their guerilla filmmaking style and use of stop motion animation and practical effects in their movies.
