Due umani, Zio Vova e Skripach, si trovano per sbaglio su un altro pianeta dopo aver inavvertitamente toccato il pulsante sbagliato di un bizzarro marchingegno nelle mani di uno strano vagabondo alieno. Il pianeta Plyuk nella galassia Kin-Dza-Dza assomiglia ad un deserto. Il paradosso di Plyuk è che la sua civiltà è molto più avanzata della nostra per quanto riguarda viaggi spaziotemporali, artiglieria, eccetera, ma dal punto di vista sociale vive in totale forma barbarica.

Two humans (Dyadya Vova and Skripach) accidentally find themselves on another planet after pushing the wrong button on the strange device in the hand of an odd looking alien. Planet Plyuk in the galaxy Kin- Dza-Dza looks like a desert. The whole paradox of Plyuk is that their civilization is much more advanced than ours in time and space travel, weaponry and so on, but totally barbarian in terms of society.
