Un progetto della NASA prevede la raccolta di informazioni e materiale alieno. La sonda artificiale utilizzata per la missione, durante la fase di rientro, si schianta al confine tra Stati Uniti e Messico. Sei anni dopo le forme di vita elementari presenti sulla sonda si sono adattate al nostro mondo, evolvendosi in creature mostruose. Un reporter e la figlia del proprietario del giornale per cui lavora devono attraversare l’area infetta per mettersi in salvo. I due si ritrovano in un paesaggio ormai completamente alieno.

A NASA project involves the collection of information and alien material. The artificial probe used for the mission, during the re-entry phase, crashes on the border between the United States and Mexico. Six years later, the elementary life forms on the probe adapted to our world, evolving into monstrous creatures. A reporter and the daughter of the owner of the newspaper he works for have to cross the infected area to get to safety. The two find themselves in a completely alien landscape.
