A drama documentary made for TV but theatrically released in 1966, about a “limited” nuclear attack on England. It blends fact and fiction to create a moving and startling vision of the personal as well as public consequences of such an attack, exposing the inadequacy of the nation’s Civil Defence programme and questioning the philosophy of the nuclear deterrent.
