Il cinema di fantascienza dà forma visiva a tecnologie che ancora non esistono. Non le predice quindi ma le può anticipare e rendere familiari. Analizzeremo alcuni esempi, come quello delle interfacce neurali, per illustrare limiti e capacità delle rappresentazioni filmiche.

Images from the Future: The Relationship Between Cinema and Technology

Science fiction cinema gives visual form to technologies that do not yet exist. It doesn’t predict them, but it can anticipate them and make them feel familiar. We will examine several examples—such as neural interfaces—to explore both the limits and the power of cinematic representations.
