Invasione di anteprime al TS+F 14

Continua ad arricchirsi la rosa di titoli della 14ª edizione del Trieste Science+Fiction, festival della fantascienza che invaderà la città di Trieste dal 29 ottobre al 3 novembre.The shortlist of titles for the 14th Trieste Science+Fiction Festival (which will be taking over the city of Trieste from the 29th October to the 3rd November) just gets better.

Tra i nuovi titoli annunciati nella selezione ufficiale Fuori Concorso troviamo l’anteprima italiana dell’australiano These Final Hours di Zak Hilditch (nelle sale dal 30 ottobre, distribuito dalla Indie Pictures), presentato alla Quinzaine des Réalisateurs del più recente Festival di Cannes, deciso a raccontare l’ultimo giorno sulla Terra, dodici ore prima di un evento catastrofico che concluderà la vita come noi la conosciamo. Per la prima volta in Italia verrà presentato anche il film collettivo il film collettivo ABCs of Death 2 in cui 26 registi, tra i quali figurano autori del calibro di Shion Sono e Vincenzo Natali, interpretano 26 irriverenti modi per morire, formando una pazza e terrificante versione dell’alfabeto.

In concorso, ai titoli già confermati si aggiungono: Robot Overlods di Jon Wrights, primo capitolo di una trilogia dedicata ad un pubblico teen in cui i protagonisti dovranno vedersela contro giganteschi robot provenienti da un’altra galassia, interpretato da Ben Kingsley e Gillian Anderson; Nuoc 2030 diretto da Nghiem-Minh Nguyen-Vo, film vietnamita scelto per inaugurare la sezione Panorama del prestigioso Festival di Berlino, film dalla tematica ambientalista le cui premesse sono il riscaldamento globale e il rapido aumento del livello del mare; l’horror fantasy Nymph del regista serbo Milan Todorovic (autore, regista e produttore di Zone of the Dead, primo zombie-movie made in Serbia), interpretato da Franco Nero con protagonista una sensuale e letale sirena; Time Lapse di Bradley King, opera indipendente americana in cui un gruppo di ragazzi scopre una macchina fotografica che scatta polaroid del futuro, facendoli rimanere invischiati in un vortice di soldi e pericolose scommesse.

Nella sezione Sci-Fi Classix figura invece Non aprite quella porta (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) di Tobe Hooper, a quarant’anni dalla sua uscita in sala, riproposto per l’occasione in un nuovissimo restauro digitale.

A World Premier Invasion at TS+F 14

Amongst the recent titles to be announced for the Official Selection Fuori Concorso (outside the main competition) is the Italian premier of the Australian film These Final Hours by Zak Hilditch (in cinemas from the 30th October, distributed by Indie Pictures). Presented at the Quinzane des Réalisateurs at the last Cannes Film Festival, it tells the story of the last day on earth, twelve hours before a catastrophic event that will end life as we know it. For the first time in Italy, the film ABCs of Death 2 will also be shown. This anthology film sees 26 directors, including such greats as Shion Sono and Vincenzo Natali, take on 26 madcap ways to die, with the end result being a mad and terrifying twist to the alphabet.

Adding to the titles that are already confirmed in the main competition are: Robot Overlords by Jon Wrights, the first in a trilogy aimed at teenage audiences that sees the protagonists, played by Ben Kingsley and Gillian Anderson, having to fight against giant robots that have come from another galaxy; Nuoc 2030, a Vietnamese film directed by Nghiem-Minh Nguyen-Vo on the subject of the environment that looks at global warming and the rapidly rising sea-levels; the horror fantasy Nymph from the Serbian director Milan Todorovic (writer, director and producer of Zone of the Dead, the first zombie film made in Serbia) featuring Franco Nero and a fatally attractive siren; Bradley King’s Time Lapse, an American indie film in which a group of kids discover a camera that takes polaroids of the future, forcing them to be mixed up in a whirl of money and risky gambles.

Then, in the Sci-Fi Classix section we will be showing Tobe Hooper’s Non Aprite Quella Porta (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre), forty years after it hit box offices, brought back to our screens for the occasion in a brand new digital re-mastering.
