Absence

Un messaggio su una segreteria: un respiro affannoso spezza il silenzio. La stanza è vuota eccetto per una signora che vaga in vestaglia. Entra un ragazzo. Sembra indaffarato agli occhi della donna, ma non sembra vederla.

A message on an answering machine; an anxious breathing breaks the silence of a dull flat. The room is empty but for a roaming woman in a dressing gown. A young man enters. He gets busy before the woman’s eyes but does not seem to notice her.
