– General Manager, Raven Banner Entertainment (Canada)
Michaelangelo Masangkay is Director of Production at Toronto Film School, founding Partner of Top Drone Inc., and General Manager of Raven Banner Entertainment, Canadian distribution company and international sales agent specializing in innovative and compelling genre films. He represents film makers and their films by brokering licensing deals during the major film festivals and markets such as Berlin, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Cannes and more. Ciro Guerra’s Oscar-nominated Embrace of the Serpent, which received an Academy Award nod for Best Foreign Language Film and Gaspar Noé’s Cannes Film Festival selection Climax are among the films Michaelangelo has distributed through Raven Banner’s distribution arm.

How to create a film lookbook

The workshop will illustrate in detail how to write the artistic and financial presentation of a film, and what elements you should include to present your project to a producer or an investor. Among the topics:

Dario Vecchiato
– Head of Acquisitions, Gapbusters (Belgio)
After studying in Stuttgart’s Filmakademie Ludwigsburg and in Paris’ La Femis, he moves to France where he works as Head of Acquisitions for Rezo International and Indie Sales, sales agents based in Paris. He is currently Head of Acquisitions at Gapbusters, Belgian production company dealing with high budget international co-productions.

Individual consultings

During a series of individual interviews, the participants of the workshop will be offered a personalised consultancy for their project.
Reserved to feature films only; maximum 5 participants.
Participants who intend to present a project must send a dossier in English with:

  • 2 to 3 page treatment
  • Logline
  • Synopsis (Max 100 words)
  • Finance Plan
  • Director’s Statement
  • Visual Treatment: tone, look, feel, comparables, etc

International co-production demystified

Pauline Mazenod, international distributor based in France and Germany, and Michel Pradier, international financing consultant, propose a workshop dedicated to producers who wish to enter into international co-production, covering the new opportunities, its main principles, notably legal and financial, the alternatives to international co-production, how and where to find a co-producer, the involvement of the international distributor, the key points to be negotiated in an international co-production agreement and the golden rules for a successful international co-production.

Michel Pradier
– producer and international consultant, Roquette Science Productions (Canada);

Michel Pradier has over 30 years experience in film production, film financing and in managing audiovisual public funds. His work in feature film production for over ten years, provided him with a solid foundation before joining Canadian public funding agencies. He managed investment and tax credits for audiovisual products at Sodec and later he was National Project Financing Director for feature films, including 22 years at Telefilm Canada. He was also the Canadian representative at Eurimages. Since 2019, he specializes in executive producing and financial counseling for international coproductions.

Pauline Mazenod
– Head of Film Acquisitions & Sales, Windrose (Germany/France)
Pauline Mazenod is the founder and CEO of Windrose, specialized in the international distribution of documentaries, performances, fiction series, and animation series, as well as its Head of Film Acquisitions and Sales. She has 20 years of international experience in the cultural, audiovisual, and cinema sector in political and operational functions. She has extensive experience teaching in French master programmes and European professional training schemes and also acts as a consultant.
