Max Topfer, spregiudicato uomo d’affari, riceve da una ragazza sconosciuta, che asserisce di vedere il futuro, un breve filmato nel quale si vede l’industriale Breton nell’atto di ucciderlo. Gli accurati esami di laboratorio confermano che la pellicola non è frutto di fotomontaggi e Topfer, suggestionato dalla sinistra predizione, finisce col progettare l’omicidio di Breton nel disperato tentativo di scampare ad un destino che ormai gli sembra ineluttabile. Breton non ha in realtà alcun motivo per odiare Topfer, ma quando questi, mettendo in atto il delitto, per fatale errore gli uccide la moglie, egli si vendica nello stesso modo preannunciato dal filmato.

Max Topfer, an unscrupulous businessman, receives a short video in which he sees the industrialist Breton in the act of killing him, from an unknown girl who claims she can see the future. Accurate lab tests conferm that the film isn’t a fake and Topfer, influenced by the sinister prediction, ends up plotting to kill Breton in a desperate attempt to escape a destiny that already seems unavoidable. In reality, Breton has no reason to hate Topfer, but when in the act of the murder, he kills Breton’s wife by mistake, Breton gets his revenge in the way that is foreshadowed at the beginning of the film.
