Gipi presenta il suo film d’esordio

Si intitola L’Ultimo Terrestre ed è il primo film di Gian Alfonso Pacinotti, in arte Gipi.
Nato a Pisa nel ’63 Gipi (che però nel suo film si firma con il suo nome di battesimo) non aveva mai fatto un film prima. Ma poi, qunado Domenico Procacci gli ha chiesto di scrivere un film, ha poggiato la matita sul tavolo, probabilmente ha lasciato qualche fumetto disegnato solo a metà, ed è diventato regista e sceneggiatore de L’Ultimo Terrestre.
La storia si svolge durante l’ultima settimana prima dell’arrivo degli extraterrestri sulla Terra.
Gli extraterrestri trovano un paese stanco e disilluso, in una crisi economica conclamata e gravissima. Ma il film non racconta la storia di un popolo; segue invece la vita di Luca Bertacci, un uomo con enormi problemi di relazione. Ma l’arrivo degli extraterrestri cambierà tutto. Difficile, al termine della storia, non pensare che questi extraterrestri con il loro arrivo tanto simile a un “giudizio universale“ siano alla fine venuti sulla terra solo per lui. Come un regalo…

Born in Pisa in ’63 Gipi (but in the film credited with his first name) had never done a film before. When Domenico Procacci asked him to write a movie, he left pencil on the table, and probably a half-drawn comic, and became the director and screenwriter of The Last Man on Earth.
The story takes place during the last week before the extraterrestrials’ arrival on Earth. The extraterrestrials find a weary and disillusioned country, in a serious economic crisis. But the film does not tells the story of people, and instead follows the life of Luca Bertacchi, a man with huge relationship problems. But the extraterrestrials’ arrival will change everything. It’s difficult, at the end of the story, to think that these extraterrestrials came for “doomsday” but rather just for him. As a gift …
