Nel corso di un weekend di libertà, il marinaio Johnny Drake incontra un’affascinante e bellissima donna, Mora, che lavora travestita da sirena in un luna park di Venice (California). I due si innamorano, ma alla fine Mora, soggiogata dall’incantesimo del suo protettore, il capitano Murdock, tenterà di uccidere Johnny… Oppure è stato il “popolo del mare” a spingerla, e lo stesso Capitano Murdock è uno del popolo del mare? In seguito, Johnny ritrova il corpo di Mora imbalsamato nel suo costume da sirena.

Over the course of a weekend’s leave, Johnny Drake, a sailor, meets the fascinating and beautiful Mora, who works as a mermaid at a theme park in Venice, California. The two fall in love , but in the end Mora, charmed by the spell of her protector, Captain Murdock, tries to kill Johnny. Or was it ‘the people of the sea’ who pushed her, Captain Murdock himself being one of them? Shortly after, Johnny finds Mora’s body, mummified in her mermaid costume.
