Sembra che questo fantasy misantropico su un centro turistico sia stato scritto da Hernadi per Miklos Jancso ben prima dell’uscita de Il mondo dei robot (Westworld, 1973), del quale tocca gli stessi temi. L’istituto, che si trova su un terreno privato, si chiama Victory Line e offre uno speciale programma di intrattenimento di gruppo. I turisti annoiati possono venire a organizzare dei Wargames, ma ben presto si renderanno conto che i cadaveri che producono sono reali: all’inizio questo, prima che i sopravvissuti entrino davvero nello spirito giusto , crea il panico. Le vicende sembrano prendere i toni della commedia nera e alla fine interviene lo Stato, che chiude il campo ma ne arruola la direttrice per allenare le unità di commando in vista di una guerra su larga scala. Il gruppo di attori che interpreta i vacanzieri è in assoluta armonia, perfetto nel restituire un atteggiamento di superficialità.

Apparently written by Hernadi for Miklos Jancso well before the release of Westworld (1973), this misanthropic fantasy about a holiday camp touches on similar topics. The establishment, located on a private estate, is called Victory Line and offers a special form of group entertainment. Bored tourists may come and organize Wargames, but they soon discover that the corpses produced are real ones, which causes a temporary panic before the survivors really get into the spirit of things. The proceedings often turn to black comedy and in the end the State steps in, closes the camp but recruits its female director to train commando units for a larger scale war. The ensemble acting of the holidaymakers is finely tuned and appropriately callous.
