Confinata su una sedia a rotelle, Penny Appleby decide di trasferirsi con il padre e la sua nuova moglie, ma al suo arrivo il padre è scomparso. Insieme all’autista ne ritrova il corpo. Mentre stanno andando verso la stazione di polizia, la matrigna di Penny fa cenno alla macchina di fermarsi. Insistendo per parlare con lei, Bob scende dalla macchina senza tirare il freno a mano, lasciando Penny, disabile, precipitare nello strapiombo.

Wheelchair bound, Penny Appleby, arrives to stay with her father and his new wife, but sh arrives he is not there. Togheter with the chauffeur she finds his body. Whilst driving towards the police station, Penny’s stepmother hails down the car. Insisting he must speak with her, Bob gets out of the car, leaving the hand brake off and allowing the crippled Penny to plunge over the cliff to her death.
