Bilbo Baggins, ormai vecchio, decide di lasciare la Contea. Prima della partenza nomina il giovane nipote Frodo suo erede e, su consiglio del saggio stregone Gandalf, gli lascia l’anello magico che rende invisibili. Alcuni anni piu tardi Gandalf torna da Frodo ignaro del pericolo che sta correndo: l’anello che possiede, infatti, è stato forgiato da Sauron, l’Oscuro Sire delle terre di Mordor, che cerca l’oggetto magico nel quale ha imprigionato parte dei suoi poteri. Frodo dovrà quindi portare l’anello sul Monte Fato, al centro delle terre di Mordor, e gettarlo nella bocca del vulcano: solo così l’anello maledetto verrà distrulto ed il potere del malvagio Sauron annientato.

Old Bilbo Baggins decides to leave the Shire, before doing so naming his young nephew Frodo as heir. Heeding the advice of the wise wizard Gandalf, he also leaves the boy with a powerful magic ring that renders the wearer invisible. Some years later, Gandalf returns to the Shire to tell unaware Frodo of the danger he is in: Sauron, the Dark Lord of Mordor wants the One Ring in which he has stored some of his powers. Frodo must take the ring to the very heart of Mordor and throw it into Mount Doom as only there can the ring be destroyed and Middle Earth saved.
