9 – 18 Luglio / July 1964
Durante la seconda edizione del Festival Internazionale del Film di Fantascienza di Trieste, dal 9 al 18 luglio, vengono realizzate le riprese di un documentario che sarà presentato sullo schermo di San Giusto l’anno successivo con il titolo I giorni dei mostri e delle astronavi, di Italo Soncini.
L’Asteroide d’oro è assegnato a The Damned di Joseph Losey (GB).
Nella saletta del corpo di guardia del Castello è allestita a cura dell’USIS (United States Information Service) la mostra Ieri fantascienza, oggi realtà. Fra i gioielli esposti, un esemplare di “Telstar”, prima serie di satelliti artificiali utilizzati nelle telecomunicazioni, come ad esempio per le trasmissioni televisive in diretta.
Nelle Armerie è invece di scena Arte Fantastica con opere, fra gli altri, di Dalì, Mirò, Ernst, Magritte, Crippa.
During the second edition of the International Science Fiction Film Festival of Trieste, from 9 to 18 July, the filming of a documentary was made which will be presented on the San Giusto screen the following year with the title The Days of Monsters and Spaceships, by Italo Soncini.
The Golden Asteroid is awarded to The Damned by Joseph Losey (GB).
The exhibition Yesterday Science Fiction, Today Reality is set up in the small room of the Castle’s guardhouse by the USIS (United States Information Service). Among the jewels on display, an example of “Telstar”, the first series of artificial satellites used in telecommunications, such as for live television broadcasts.
In the Armouries, Fantastic Art is on display with works by, among others, Dalì, Mirò, Ernst, Magritte, Crippa.
