The guest charge will be led by Neil Marshall, Emmy nominated director of The Descent<\/i> and Game of Thrones<\/i>, who will introduce his latest science fiction fantasy The Lair<\/i><\/b><\/a>, which he describes as \u201cThe Thing<\/i> meets The Dirty Half Dozen<\/i>\u201d. Marshall will also head the International Jury and host a Master Class on his classic feature debut, Dog Soldiers<\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/b> is thrilled to name the first titles to be screened at their hugely anticipated banner 2022 event at the Teatro Rossetti and the Teatro Miela from November 1st to November 6th<\/u>.<\/p>\n

\nThe highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 Trieste Science+Fiction Festival favourite The Witch: Part 1 \u2013 The Subversion<\/i>is here! It is the beginning of everything as another Witch wakes up in a gigantic, devastated, secret laboratory.<\/p>\n

The Visitor From the Future<\/i><\/b><\/a> by Fran\u00e7ois Descraques (France, 2022, Italian Premiere)
\nBased on the hugely entertaining, funny and scary web series that caused a sensation in France, welcome to 2555 AD when civilization has collapsed due to ecological disaster.<\/p>\n

Something In the Dirt<\/i><\/b><\/a> by Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead (USA, 2022, Italian Premiere)
\nFrom Trieste Science+Fiction Festival favourites, directors Aaron Moorehead and Justin Benson, a fusion of DIY science fiction, extreme character drama, dark comedy, pre-apocalyptic vibes and overwhelming paranoia.<\/p>\n

Night Sky<\/i><\/b><\/a> \u00a0by Jacob Gentry (USA, 2022, Italian Premiere)
\nA celestial vagabond and a small time crook team up in director Jacob (Broadcast Signal Intrusion<\/i>) Gentry\u2019s independent and provocative sci-fi fantasy.<\/p>\n

Rubikon<\/i><\/b><\/a> by Magdalena Lauritsch (Austria, 2022, Italian Premiere)
\nWhen an environmental disaster begins on Earth, a Space Station crew must decide whether to go back home to save potential survivors or stay and save themselves.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a Trieste Science+Fiction first, the Festival has teamed up with the UK\u2019s FrightFest, named as one of the Top Twenty Best Fests in the world, to cross promote their events. On Sunday August 28 at 4 pm at the Prince Charles Cinema in London\u2019s Leicester Square, artistic director Alan Jones will give a presentation about Trieste Science+Fiction Festival complete with a filmed introduction, followed by the world premiere of Control<\/i><\/b><\/a> that will also be part of the Italian premiere S+F line-up in November.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Control<\/i><\/b> is the first Canadian sci-fi thriller to use real-time virtual production tools and concerns a woman locked in a mysterious room commanded by an unknown voice to carry out tasks to save her daughter.<\/p>\n

In return the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival with host the Italian Premiere of the horror comedy Wolf Manor<\/i><\/b><\/a>, World Premiered at FrightFest, within its November program.<\/p>\n

Directed by British national treasure and television royalty Dominic Brunt, Wolf Manor<\/i><\/b> finds a low-budget vampire horror movie shoot under attack by the location\u2019s resident and jealous werewolf. This title-swapping event to promote each Festival in different countries is a first for the industry.<\/p>\n

The full program, plus retrospectives, collateral events and complete list of celebrity, jury and genre guests attending will be announced mid-September.
