Alan Jones<\/b> is the new director of <\/span>Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/b>, the most important Italian event focusing on science fiction. The British film critic takes over the artistic direction of the 22nd edition<\/b> of the Trieste festival, which will take place <\/span>from 1 to 6 November 2022<\/b>.<\/p>\n
A pioneer in genre film criticism for over four decades, Alan Jones is also an in-demand broadcaster and best-selling author. Books include \u2018The Rough Guide to Horror Movies\u2019, \u2018The FrightFest Guide to Grindhouse Movies\u2019, \u2018The Act of Seeing\u2019 with director Nicolas Winding Refn<\/b> and ‘Dario Argento<\/b>: The Man, The Myths & The Magic\u2019 now in its sixth reprint. With Argento he translated, edited, annotated and illustrated the maestro\u2019s autobiography \u2018Fear\u2019 for the English-speaking market. A key host for the Cinema: Made in Italy festival in London, he is a director of the UK\u2019s biggest genre festival FrightFest, which stages three annual blockbuster events in London and Glasgow.<\/p>\n
