The prize, (awarded in collaboration with the Mondadori magazine Urania) has always been the method through which the Festival has paid tribute to the illustrious personalities that have made history in genre film, such as Dario Argento, Roger Corman, Joe Dante, Christopher Lee, Terry Gilliam and George Romero. This year the choice has fallen upon the Italian director who has managed, above all others in recent years, to join authorship with genre film: indeed, it is one of Salvatores&#8217; works (Nirvana, from 1996) that appears to be the biggest success among the public in the history of Science-Fiction.  The director from Naples is currently working in Trieste on the set of his new feature film The Invisible Boy (Il Ragazzo Invisibile), a story about growing up from a fantasy perspective, produced by Indigo Film with Rai Cinema and with the collaboration of FVG Film Commission.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Gabriele-Salvatores-816x543.jpg\" alt=\"Gabriele-Salvatores-816x543\" width=\"816\" height=\"543\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-349\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Trieste Science+Fiction \u2013 International Science Fiction Film Festival is proud to announce that the Urania d&#8217;Argento Lifetime Achievement Prize will be awarded to the Oscar-winning director Gabriele Salvatores.
