Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, <\/b>the most important science-fiction event in Italy, taking place <\/span>in Trieste from October 29th to November 3rd<\/b> this year, has revealed the poster of the 2020 edition:\u00a0 an <\/span>original drawing<\/b> by rising stars <\/span>Van Orton; <\/b>among their clients, Marvel and Microsoft. The poster conveys the will and the pleasure to explore the <\/span>meraviglie del possibile<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>the wonders of what is possible<\/span><\/i>) through the image of an <\/span>astronaut<\/b> nestled in a colourful <\/span>pop mosaic<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSpace science fiction is stylized creating shapes which intertwine and melt to produce a psychedelic image conjuring the atmosphere of big stained glass windows\u201d<\/b>. This is how the Turin designers <\/span>Van Orton<\/b> describe their poster. The art of the twin brothers is strongly influenced by pop culture and a design inspired by the big stained glass windows in medieval churches, evolving through symmetrical graftings and glowing lines.<\/span><\/p>\n

Van Orton\u2019s first work reinterpreted the icons of the <\/span>cult movies from the \u201880s<\/b> and quickly gained visibility and the attention of important brands like Marvel, Microsoft, Armani, Bmw and artists like Pearl Jam.<\/span><\/p>\n

TRIESTE SCIENCE+FICTION FESTIVAL CELEBRATES ITS FIRST 20 YEARS

\n<\/b>The science-fiction festival is preparing a <\/span>special edition<\/b>,<\/span> both live and online<\/b>, to celebrate its twentieth anniversary. The <\/span>format <\/b>of the 20th edition of the most important science fiction festival in Italy will be <\/span>completely renewed<\/b>, featuring an online film selection, a live programme taking place in Trieste (and elsewhere) and a number of special events.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>Our greatest hope is to be able to celebrate our twentieth anniversary with our audience…<\/span><\/i>\u201d – says <\/span>Daniele Terzoli<\/b>, the festival\u2019s director – \u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c…because the collective experience of movie watching is essential to the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival. Our main venue for years has been a theatre with nearly 1000 seats and it\u2019s easy to understand how important is the audience participation, let alone the emotion to hear them all shouting \u201c<\/span><\/i>Fotonic Rays! <\/i><\/b>Together before the screening. But right now it is as important\u00a0 for us to organize a festival where our audience, our guests and our partners can feel safe, and that\u2019s what we are working at this year.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
