During the last few years, this practice has become more and more common and has brought about a constant and deeper cooperation with US cinema. \u201cThe Deal\u201d, shot and produced in the Balkans with US financings, is a very good example of this practice, that will be discussed with its Hungarian director Orsi Nagyp\u00e1l.<\/p>\n<p>Speaker:<strong> Orsi Nagyp\u00e1l<\/strong>, director (Hungary)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cFlowing\u201d and the return of Italian genre to the international scene<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter decades of isolation, Italian genre cinema is starting to seriously deal with international co-production and trying to get into step with European film industries. Starting from a case study of \u201cFlowing\u201d, an overview of genre cinema in Italy and of its international outlook.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers: <strong>Paolo Strippoli<\/strong>, director (Italy); <strong>Marina Marzotto<\/strong>, Producer, Founder &amp; Senior Partner, Propaganda Italia (Italy);<strong> Dario Vecchiato<\/strong>, Head of Acquisitions, Gapbusters (Belgium)<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Northern Europe connection: \u201cMemory of Water\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nNorthern Europe has been strongly supporting the genre film industry for years now. This policy is engaging many European and non-EU countries, and has brought about dozens of internationally acclaimed hits. The latest of these, \u201cMemory of Water\u201d, will be analysed here by its Finnish director and producer.<\/p>\n<p>Speakers:<strong> Saara Saarela<\/strong>, director (Finland);<strong> Mark Lwoff<\/strong>, producer, Bufo (Finland)<\/p>\n<p><strong>From Lithuania to Europe: \u201cVesper\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\nThanks to a policy of strong support to the audiovisual industry, in a very few years Lithuania has shifted from a marginal position to a key role in international co-production.
