Art. 1 \u2014 Introduzione, obiettivi e finalit\u00e0<\/h1>\n

Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> \u00e8 una manifestazione multidisciplinare dedicata all\u2019esplorazione dei mondi del fantastico, dei linguaggi sperimentali e delle nuove tecnologie nelle produzioni per il cinema, la televisione e le arti visive. Il principale obiettivo di Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> \u00e8 promuovere e dare visibilit\u00e0, in Italia e nei Paesi limitrofi, alle produzioni del settore fantastico provenienti da tutto il mondo, con particolare riguardo alle produzioni europee e con attenzione particolare per le opere cinematografiche ed audio-visive di genere science-fiction e fantasy.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 2 \u2014 Organizzazione ed enti promotori<\/h1>\n

Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> \u00e8 organizzato dal Centro Ricerche e Sperimentazioni Cinematografiche e Audiovisive La Cappella Underground. Il Festival \u00e8 sostenuto da: Ministero per i Beni e le Attivit\u00e0 Culturali \u2013 Direzione Generale Cinema, Regione Autonoma Friuli Venezia Giulia, Provincia di Trieste, Comune di Trieste, Camera di Commercio di Trieste, Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Trieste<\/em>. Dal 2005 Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> aderisce alla E.F.F.F.F. \u2013 European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation<\/strong>.

Art. 3 \u2014 Date e sezioni<\/h1>\n

Trieste Science+Fiction Festival 2017<\/strong> si svolge dal 31 ottobre al 05 novembre a Trieste.
\nIl festival \u00e8 articolato nelle seguenti sezioni:
\n\u2022 concorso internazionale per film di science-fiction e fantasy – premio Asteroide;
\n\u2022 concorso per il miglior lungometraggio europeo di genere fantastico – premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent;
\n\u2022 concorso per il miglior cortometraggio europeo di genere fantastico – premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent;
\n\u2022 Spazio Italia – selezione di opere italiane di genere fantastico;
\n\u2022 retrospettive, programmi speciali e premi alla carriera;
\n\u2022 anteprime ed eventi speciali.<\/p>\n

Un comitato di selezione visiona ed invita i film che saranno presentati nelle sezioni competitive e non competitive.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 4 \u2014 Concorso internazionale per film di science-fiction e fantasy – premio Asteroide<\/h1>\n

Possono partecipare al concorso internazionale i film lungometraggi (della durata minima di 60 minuti) ultimati non prima di 18 mesi antecedenti al festival, girati in qualunque formato, e riconducibili al genere science-fiction e fantasy nella sua accezione pi\u00f9 ampia. Il concorso \u00e8 riservato alle opere prime, seconde o terze di registi emergenti, inedite in Italia<\/em>, salvo eccezioni a giudizio insindacabile del comitato di selezione. La direzione del festival nominer\u00e0 una giuria internazionale composta da non meno di tre professionisti, incaricata di assegnare il premio Asteroide al miglior film. Al film vincitore verr\u00e0 consegnata una creazione artistica originale, realizzata da un artista locale e del valore minimo di 1000 euro.
\nIl film vincitore del Premio Asteroide dovr\u00e0 riportare l\u2019indicazione del riconoscimento ottenuto su tutti i materiali promozionali e in tutte le forme di distribuzione (sala, home video, VOD), secondo la grafica ufficiale predisposta e fornita dal Festival.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 5 \u2014 Concorso per il miglior lungometraggio europeo di genere fantastico – premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/h1>\n

Il concorso per il premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> \u00e8 organizzato in collaborazione con la European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation <\/strong>ed \u00e8 riservato a lungometraggi europei (della durata minima di 59 minuti) di recente produzione e di genere fantastico, nella sua accezione pi\u00f9 ampia. Tutti i film devono essere qualificati come Produzione Europea secondo le regole della E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong>[1] . La selezione \u00e8 composta da un minimo di sei film lungometraggi, inediti in Italia<\/em>. La direzione del festival nominer\u00e0 una giuria composta da professionisti del settore che avr\u00e0 il compito di assegnare il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> a uno dei film del concorso. Lo stesso film pu\u00f2 essere selezionato in pi\u00f9 festival della E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong> Tuttavia, un film che riceve il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> in uno dei festival della Federazione non pu\u00f2 partecipare al concorso nei successivi festival membri. I film premiati con il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> nei singoli festival della Federazione partecipano ogni anno al concorso per il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019or<\/em> (www.melies.org).
\nIl film vincitore del Premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> dovr\u00e0 riportare l\u2019indicazione del riconoscimento ottenuto su tutti i materiali promozionali e su tutte le copie in distribuzione (sala, home video, VOD), secondo la grafica ufficiale predisposta e fornita dal Festival.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 6 \u2014 Concorso per il miglior cortometraggio europeo di genere fantastico – premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/h1>\n

Possono partecipare al concorso i film cortometraggi della durata massima di 25 minuti <\/em>(salve eccezioni a giudizio insindacabile del comitato di selezione), ultimati non prima di 18 mesi antecedenti al Festival, girati in qualunque formato, e riconducibili al genere science-fiction e fantasy nella sua accezione pi\u00f9 ampia. Tutti i film devono essere qualificati come Produzione Europea secondo le regole della E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong>[1]. La selezione \u00e8 composta da un minimo di dieci cortometraggi, inediti in Italia<\/em>. Il premio M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> sar\u00e0 assegnato al cortometraggio in concorso che avr\u00e0 ricevuto il maggior numero di voti dal pubblico in sala. Lo stesso film pu\u00f2 essere selezionato in pi\u00f9 festival della E.F.F.F.F. <\/strong>Tuttavia, un film che riceve il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent <\/em>in uno dei festival della Federazione non pu\u00f2 partecipare al concorso nei successivi festival membri. I cortometraggi premiati con il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent <\/em>nei singoli festival della Federazione partecipano ogni anno al concorso per il M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019or <\/em>(www.melies.org).

Art. 7 \u2014 Spazio Italia – selezione di opere italiane di genere fantastico<\/h1>\n

Spazio Italia \u00e8 una sezione non competitiva che accoglie una selezione di opere italiane di recente produzione, girate in qualunque formato e di qualunque durata, riconducibili al genere fantastico nella sua accezione pi\u00f9 ampia.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 8 \u2014 Partecipazione alla selezione<\/h1>\n

La richiesta di partecipazione alla selezione deve essere inoltrata tramite la scheda di iscrizione ufficiale o tramite le piattaforme web indicate sul sito del Festival (www.sciencefictionfestival.org). L\u2019iscrizione \u00e8 gratuita<\/strong>. La scheda di iscrizione, compilata in tutte le sue parti, dovr\u00e0 pervenire via email entro il 18 settembre 2017<\/strong>, accompagnata da un\u2019adeguata documentazione informativa, come specificato nella stessa scheda di iscrizione. Entro la stessa data, dovr\u00e0 essere garantito ai membri del comitato di selezione l’accesso ad una copia del film in formato digitale. Nel caso i presentatori dei film preferiscano inviare una copia del film in formato DVD\/Blu-Ray, la spedizione dovr\u00e0 riportare la seguente dicitura: \u201cper scopo culturale, senza valore commerciale \/ for cultural purpose only, without commercial value\u201d. In caso contrario, il Festival si riserva il diritto di rifiutare la spedizione. Le spese di spedizione di tutti i materiali sono a carico dei partecipanti. Il materiale informativo andr\u00e0 a far parte degli archivi di Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> e non sar\u00e0 pertanto reso ai mittenti.
\nLe decisioni attinenti alla selezione dei film sono a giudizio insindacabile del comitato di selezione del Festival. Il comitato di selezione non \u00e8 tenuto a fornire delucidazioni in merito ai criteri di inclusione o esclusione dei film sottoposti alla sua attenzione.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 9 \u2014 Partecipazione al festival: copie di proiezione e materiali richiesti<\/h1>\n

Tutte le copie dei film invitati al Festival dovranno essere in versione originale (sottotitolate in inglese, se non in lingua inglese)<\/em>. Il formato di proiezione accettato dal Festival \u00e8 il DCP. Eventuali eccezioni dovranno essere concordate con il personale tecnico del Festival e sono a discrezione del Festival stesso.
\nLe copie dei film dovranno pervenire al Festival entro e non oltre il 23 ottobre 2017<\/strong>. Le spedizioni internazionali dovranno riportare la dicitura: \u201cper scopo culturale, senza valore commerciale \/ for cultural purpose only, without commercial value\u201d. Le spedizioni provenienti da Stati extra-europei dovranno essere accompagnate da una fattura proforma, che dichiari un valore non superiore ai 50 USD. Il Festival non si far\u00e0 carico di eventuali spese doganali.<\/p>\n

I presentatori dei film invitati dovranno anche far pervenire al Festival il seguente materiale:
\n\u2022 scheda tecnica;
\n\u2022 sinossi del film, bio-filmografia e dichiarazione del regista;
\n\u2022 foto del film e del regista;
\n\u2022 lista dialoghi nella lingua originale del film;
\n\u2022 file dei sottotitoli in inglese (per film in lingua diversa dall’italiano e dall’inglese);
\n\u2022 copia del film in formato digitale per la realizzazione dei sottotitoli italiani (per film in lingua diversa dall’italiano);
\n\u2022 video clip a scopo promozionale.
\nLa documentazione completa dovr\u00e0 pervenire al Festival entro e non oltre il 9 ottobre 2017<\/strong>.
\nGli uffici del Festival invieranno tempestivamente istruzioni dettagliate riguardo ai materiali richiesti, unitamente alle informazioni inerenti la spedizione delle copie, a seguito dell’accettazione dell’invito da parte dei presentatori dei film.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 10 \u2014 Costi di spedizione e assicurazione<\/h1>\n

I costi di spedizione dei film sono a carico del Festival, tranne nei casi in cui la rispedizione, per espressa richiesta degli aventi diritto, debba essere effettuata presso un indirizzo diverso da quello della sede dei presentatori dei film. La restituzione delle opere selezionate sar\u00e0 effettuata entro due settimane dalla conclusione del festival; sar\u00e0 cura degli interessati fornire al Festival i dati per la rispedizione delle copie. Le copie saranno assicurate da eventuali danni con una polizza di assicurazione \u201cAll Risks\u201d stipulata a cura e a spese del Festival. Le copie saranno effettivamente assicurate per il periodo in cui saranno a disposizione del Festival, vale a dire dal momento in cui vengono ricevute fino al momento della spedizione di ritorno.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 11 \u2014 Disposizioni generali e contestazioni<\/h1>\n

L\u2019iscrizione e la partecipazione al Trieste Science+Fiction Festival <\/strong>implica l\u2019accettazione del presente regolamento in tutte le sue parti. Per ogni questione non disciplinata dal presente regolamento, la direzione del Festival si riserva il diritto di assumere decisioni definitive. Il presente regolamento \u00e8 redatto in lingua italiana e inglese. In caso di problemi interpretativi, fa fede la versione italiana.<\/p>\n

Art. 1 \u2014 Introduction, aims and purposes<\/h1>\n

Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> is a multidisciplinary event devoted to the exploration of the realms of the \u201cfantastic\u201d genre, and the use of new technologies and experimental languages in film, television and visual arts. The main purpose of Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> is to present and promote, in Italy and in its neighboring countries, \u201cfantastic\u201d productions from all over the world, focusing particularly on science-fiction and fantasy cinematographic and audio-visual works.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 2 \u2014 Organization and supporting institutions<\/h1>\n

Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> is organized by the Italian film center La Cappella Underground. The Festival is supported by: Ministry for the Cultural Heritage – DGC, Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Province of Trieste, Municipality of Trieste, Trieste Chamber of Commerce, University of Trieste.<\/em> Since 2005 Trieste Science+Fiction Festival<\/strong> has been a member of the E.F.F.F.F. \u2013 European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation<\/strong>.

Art. 3 \u2014 Dates and sections<\/h1>\n

Trieste Science+Fiction Festival 2017<\/strong> is scheduled to run October 31-November 5 in Trieste. The Festival features the following sections:
\n\u2022 competition for Best International Science-fiction and Fantasy Feature-length Film \u2013 Asteroid Award;
\n\u2022 competition for Best European Feature-length Film from the fantastic genre \u2013 M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent Award;
\n\u2022 competition for Best European Short Film from the fantastic genre \u2013 M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent Award;
\n\u2022 Spazio Italia \u2013 selection of Italian productions from the fantastic genre;
\n\u2022 retrospectives, special programs and life achievement awards;
\n\u2022 premieres and special events.
\nThe selection committee of the Festival selects and invites the films that are presented in competition and out of competition.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 4 \u2014 Competition for best international science-fiction and fantasy feature-length film \u2013 Asteroid award<\/h1>\n

The International Competition is restricted to feature-length films (running time: 60 minutes min.), completed in the 18 months prior to the Festival, shot in any format, and classified as science-fiction and fantasy genres in their broadest sense. The competition is only for first, second or third feature-length films by emerging directors; the films must not have been released in Italy yet<\/em>. The selection committee of the Festival has the right to consider exceptions to this clause. The Direction of the Festival shall appoint an International Jury of at least three movie professionals with the task of conferring the Asteroid Award to the best film. The winner will be presented with an original work of art by a local artist, with a value of a minimum of 1,000 euros.
\nThe film awarded with the Asteroid Award shall include the mention of the award in all promotional materials and in all forms of distribution (theatrical, home video and VOD), in accordance with the official graphic design provided by the Festival.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 5 \u2014 Competition for best European feature-length film from the fantastic genre – M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent award<\/h1>\n

The M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> competition is organized in collaboration with the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation <\/strong>and is restricted to recently produced European feature-length films (running time: 59 minutes min.) from the fantastic genre in its broadest sense. All films must be qualified as an European Production, according to the rules of the E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong>[1]. The final selection features at least six films; the films must not have been released in Italy yet<\/em>. The Direction of the Festival shall appoint a Jury of movie professionals with the task of awarding the M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> to one of the films in competition. The same film may be selected at various E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong> festivals. A film that has won an award at one of the festivals of the Federation, however, cannot be screened in competition at the ensuing member festivals. The films awarded with a M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent <\/em>participate in the yearly competition for the M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019or <\/em>(www.melies.org).
\nThe film awarded with the M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> shall include the mention of the award in all promotional materials and in all forms of distribution (theatrical, home video and VOD), in accordance with the official graphic design provided by the Festival.<\/p>\n

Art. 6 \u2014 Competition for best European short film from the fantastic genre \u2013 M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent award<\/h1>\n

Admission to the M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent award is restricted to short films (running time: 25 minutes max.<\/em> – the selection committee of the Festival has the right to consider exceptions to this clause), completed in the 18 months before the Festival, shot in any format, classified as science-fiction and fantasy genres in their broadest sense. All films must be qualified as a European Production, according to the rules of the E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong>[1] . The final selection features at least ten films; the films must not have been released in Italy yet. The M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> will be awarded to the short film that gets the highest marks by the Festival’s audience. The same film may be selected at various E.F.F.F.F.<\/strong> festivals. A film that has won an award at one of the festivals of the Federation, however, cannot be screened in competition at the ensuing member festivals. The films awarded with a M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> participate in the yearly competition for the M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019or<\/em> (www.melies.org).
\nThe film awarded with the M\u00e9li\u00e8s d\u2019argent<\/em> shall include the mention of the award in all promotional materials and in all forms of distribution (theatrical, home video and VOD), in accordance with the official graphic design provided by the Festival.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 7 \u2014 Spazio Italia \u2013 selection of Italian productions from the fantastic genre<\/h1>\n

Spazio Italia is a non-competitive section that features a selection of recently produced Italian films, shot in any formats and of any running time, from the fantastic genre in its broadest sense.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 8 \u2014 Participation in the selection process<\/h1>\n

In order to participate in the selection process, film presenters shall fill out the official entry form or submit the film through the web portals listed on the Festival\u2019s website (www.sciencefictionfestival.org). No application fee is due<\/strong>. The entry form, duly filled out and signed, shall be dispatched via email by September 18, 2017<\/strong>, together with the suitable information materials, as specified in the entry form. By the same date, film presenters shall grant the members of the selection committee access to a digital copy of the film. In case film presenters prefer to send a copy of the film in DVD or Blu-Ray format, the shipment shall be labelled as following: \u201cfor cultural purposes only, without commercial value\u201d. Non-compliant parcels could be rejected. All shipment costs are at the film presenters’ charge. The information material will be kept as part of the archives of Trieste Science+Fiction Festival <\/strong>and will thus not be returned to senders.
\nAll decisions concerning the selection of films are at the selection committee’s sole discretion. The members of the selection committee are not obliged to provide any clarification on the criteria applied to the selection of the submitted films.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 9 \u2014 Participation in the festival: screening copies and requested materials<\/h1>\n

All copies of the invited films shall be in their original version (with English subtitles, if not in English)<\/em>. The Festival’s accepted screening format is DCP. Exceptions to this clause may be considered by the Festival and shall be agreed upon with its technical staff.
\nAll copies of the selected films are requested to reach the Festival’s headquarter by October 23, 2017.<\/strong> International shipment shall be labelled as following: \u201cfor cultural purposes only, without commercial value\u201d. Shipments from non-EU countries shall have in attachment a pro-forma invoice, declaring a maximum value of 50 USD. The Festival will not cover custom duties.
\nFilm presenters shall also provide the Festival with the following materials:
\n\u2022 full and detailed technical sheet;
\n\u2022 synopsis, director\u2019s bio-filmography and statement on the film;
\n\u2022 stills of film scenes and a picture of the director;
\n\u2022 dialogue list in the original language of the film;
\n\u2022 time-coded file of the English subtitles (for films whose original language is neither English nor Italian)
\n\u2022 a video file of the film for electronic subtitling in Italian (for films whose original language is not Italian);
\n\u2022 video clips for promotional purposes.
\nThe above materials shall be delivered to the Festival no later than October 9, 2017<\/strong>.
\nThe Festival’s offices will promptly provide film presenters with detailed instructions on the requested materials, together with their shipment guidelines, following the acceptance of the invitation to participate in the Festival.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 10 \u2014 Shipping and insurance costs<\/h1>\n

The costs of the shipment of the film copies are at the Festival’s charge, except when film presenters explicitly ask for a return shipment to an address other than their headquarter’s. The copies will be shipped back within two weeks from the end of the Festival; it is the film presenters’ responsibility to inform the Festival of the address of dispatch. All copies will be covered by an \u201cAll risks\u201d insurance policy taken out and entirely paid by the Festival. Copies will be actually insured for the period in which they are available for the Festival, i.e. from delivery to return shipment.<\/p>\n

\n

Art. 11 \u2014 General provisions and challenges<\/h1>\n

Entry to, and participation in, the Festival shall imply fully acceptance of the present regulations. The Direction of the Festival reserves the right to take final decisions to any exception not envisaged in the present regulations. The present regulations are laid down both in Italian and in English. In case of interpretation problems, the Italian version shall prevail.<\/p>\n

1 \u2014 (1) If the director is not a European national, the production must be entirely European (even a minor non-European contribution is eliminatory); (2) if the director is a European national, a non-European co-production will be considered.
