Tom Baker, who took over the role from Jon Pertwee in 1974, was (or is) arguably the most popular Doctor Who. Having played the role for over six years he was certainly the longest serving. With the arrival of Baker, writer Robert Holmes also became the series’ script editor, and there was a marked increase in the horror content of the stories. Written by Holmes himself together with former script editor Terrance Dicks under the pseudonym Robin Bland, the four-part story sees the Doctor and his companion Sarah Jane Smith arrive on a planet inhabited by the mad scientist Solon, who is constructing a body from a miscellany of various alien race body parts, Frankenstein-style, in order to house the brain of Time Lord criminal, Morbius.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
