Una commissione internazionale manda una spedizione su Venere con il Kosmokrator 1. […] Una volta sul pianeta, si scoprono le rovine di una civilt\u00e0 molto evoluta caduta vittima dei propri impulsi distruttivi. Il messaggio pacifista coincide con il filone statunitense di film sullo stesso argomento come Sulla spiaggia (On the Beach, 1959) o Beyond the Time Barrier (1960). […] Il regista Maetzig fu co-fondatore dell\u2019industria cinematografia del dopoguerra nella Germania Est e rimase l\u2019esponente di spicco anche negli anni \u201860. I set, specialmente quelli della citt\u00e0 venusiana distrutta, i paesaggi bizzarri e i vulcani arrabbiati, sono il risultato dell\u2019ottimo lavoro di Anatol Radzinowicz. Uscito nel 1963 negli Stati Uniti in una versione doppiata.<\/p>\n

This primarily East German film was shot in 1959-60, set in 1970 and based on Poland\u2019s most famous science fiction writer\u2019s first novel, Stanislaw Lem\u2019s “The Astronauts”, published in 1951. […] All peoples on Earth are living in harmony. Scientists discover a magnetic spool containing a message from Venus that refers to an attack. An international commission sends an expedition to Venus in Kosmokrator 1. […] On Venus, they discover the ruins of a very advanced civilization that fell victim to its own destructive impulses. The pacifist message dovetails with US films on the same theme, such as On the Beach (1959) or Beyond the Time Barrier (1960). The director, Maetzig, was co-founder of the post-war film industry in East Germany and remained its most prestigious representative well into the Sixties. The sets, especially those representing the dead Venusian city, the bizarre landscapes and angry volcanoes are Anatol Radzinowicz\u2019s best work. Released in the US in a dubbed version in 1963.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_column_text el_id=””]<\/p>\n
