The story takes place during the last week before the arrival of an extraterrestrial civilisation on Earth. The extraterrestrials find a tired and disillusioned country, in an overt and severe economic crisis. But the film does not tell the story of a people; instead it follows the life of Luca Bertacci, a man with enormous relationship problems. But the arrival of extraterrestrials will change everything. It is hard, at the end of the story, not to think that these extraterrestrials, with their arrival so much like a ‘universal judgement’, have in the end come to earth just for him.
