La loro resistenza emozionale \u00e8 messa a dura prova, mentre la narrazione sonda quanto l\u2019amore possa sopportare se attaccato e straziato. Rose Leslie e Harry Treadaway non si erano mai incontrati prima di essere scelti, ma il loro talento ha creato sulla tela una complessa relazione che riflette le sfumature di una coppia che si conosce da anni. La chimica che hanno saputo creare in quanto Bea e Paul \u00e8 imbevuta di giovanile energia e disperata paura. Honeymoon racconta come qualcosa di familiare possa diventare alieno. Young newlyweds Paul and Bea travel to a remote lake country for their honeymoon, where the promise of private romance awaits them. Shortly after arriving, Paul finds Bea wandering and disoriented in the middle of the night. As she becomes more distant and her behavior increasingly peculiar, Paul begins to suspect something more sinister than sleepwalking took place in the woods.
\n“Honeymoon is a transformation tale. It tells the story of newlyweds Paul and Bea and how something beautiful can become monstrous. I wanted to tell an intimate, grounded genre story. I was inspired by Polanski\u2019s paranoid thrillers where the horror gnaws from within. Paul and Bea share an intimacy that only couples can. They know each other\u2019s minds. They know each other\u2019s bodies. Their emotional endurance is tested as the narrative explores how far love can be pushed when it\u2019s tortured and under attack. Rose Leslie and Harry Treadaway hadn\u2019t met prior to being cast, but their talents created an on-screen relationship that reflects the nuance of a couple who has known each other for years. The chemistry they share as Bea and Paul is imbued with youthful energy and desperate fear. Honeymoon is an exploration of how the familiar can become alien. There should be a sense of impending doom bubbling under everything \u2014 contamination creeping into every scene, a slow-rotting, spoiling sensation. When you\u2019re walking home from the theatre with a friend, when you climb into bed next to your partner, hopefully there\u2019s a nagging: \u201cWho is this person next to me?\u201d.
