From October 28 to November 2, 2025, Trieste will host the twenty-fifth edition of the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival, the annual event that brings hundreds of sci-fi cinema and culture enthusiasts to the city. To make this edition special as well, we are looking for resourceful young people ready to step up and experience firsthand a educational, fun, and unique opportunity.

By applying as a volunteer, you will be able to contribute to the realization of the Festival, meet new people, and discover the organization of a major cultural event from the inside. In exchange, you will receive a Festival accreditation (allowing you access to screenings and panels when off duty), the official bag, and the staff t-shirt.

For the Bachelor's degree programs in Historical and Philosophical Disciplines, Literature, Foreign Languages and Literatures, and for the Master's degree programs in Philosophy, Languages, Foreign Literatures and Cultural Tourism, and Historical Studies from Ancient to Contemporary at the University of Trieste, it will be possible to earn 1 ECTS/CFU credit for 25 hours of volunteer work; in any case, you can always request a certificate of participation, which is not valid for academic credit recognition.

Hospitality or expense reimbursements are not provided for those coming from outside the city. To participate, you must be of legal age.

The areas in which you can apply are:

  • Communication: support to the communication office for social media management, including the creation of reels, stories, copy, videos, and other original and creative content.
  • Hospitality: support to the hospitality office in welcoming guests and preparing materials dedicated to them.
  • Production: support to the accreditation desk and the Fantastic Shop, venue setup, and audience assistance and welcoming across the Festival’s screening rooms and spaces.

To apply, simply fill out the form at this link. If you have already participated in the Festival in the past, you can log in directly to Eventival with your credentials.

Applications will remain open until October 19, 2025.

Selected candidates will be called to the first coordination meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, October 21 at 5:00 PM. The venue for the meeting will be communicated in the weeks preceding the start of the Festival.
