A.D. 1000. One Eye, un guerriero muto dotato di una forza sovrannaturale, è tenuto prigioniero da molti anni dal capitano norvegese Barde. Grazie all’aiuto di Are, un giovane schiavo, uccide il suo carceriere e scappa insieme al ragazzo. Durante la fuga, i due si imbarcano su un vascello vichingo ma l’imbarcazione è presto inghiottita da una fitta nebbia che svanisce solo in prossimità di una terra sconosciuta. Mentre il nuovo mondo svela i suoi segreti e i Vichinghi affrontano il loro terribile destino, One Eye scopre il suo vero se stesso.
Nicolas Winding Refn, di origini danesi, ha scritto e diretto il suo primo lungometraggio Pusher (1996) all’età di 24 anni, seguito poi dallo stilizzatissimo Bleeder, vincitore del prestigioso Premio FIPRESCI al Film Festival di Sarajevo. La prima del suo terzo lungo, Fear X (2003) si è tenuta al Sundance.

1000 AD. For years, One Eye, a mute warrior of supernatural strength, has been held prisoner by the Norse chieftain Barde. Aided by Are, a boy slave, One Eye slays his captor and together he and Are escape, beginning a journey into the heart of darkness. On their flight, One Eye and Are board a Viking vessel but the ship is soon engulfed by an endless fog that disintegrates only as they sight an unknown land. As this new world reveals its secrets and the Vikings confront their terrible fate, One Eye discovers his true self.
Nicolas Winding Refn, Danish-born, wrote and directed his first feature Pusher (1996) at the age of 24. It was followed by the highly stylized Bleeder, which won the prestigious FIPRESCI Prize at the Sarajevo Film Festival. His third feature, Fear X (2003), premiered at Sundance.
