Cesare, giovane madrileno bello, ricco e di successo, ha recentemente lasciato Nuria, dopo essersi invaghito della bellissima Sofia. Nuria, distrutta, offre a Cesare un passaggio in auto con l’intento di andarsi a schiantare. Lei resta vittima dell’incidente, mentre Cesare sopravvive, ma rimane terribilmente sfigurato. Da questo momento in poi, ansioso di recuperare la propria bellezza originaria, Cesare inizia a mettere tutto in dubbio tutto quello che, fino a quel momento, aveva ritenuto reale e la sua vita lentamente diventa sempre più confusa.
