A series of events in which the screening of a science fiction film is accompanied by a scientific discussion—an exploration of research topics related to the film’s plot, whether plausible, potential, or entirely unrealistic. This idea gave rise to the “Science Fiction Film Forum,” organized by Area Science Park and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Science and Innovation System (SiS FVG) in collaboration with the Trieste Science+Fiction Festival.
The three films on the program, all winners of the latest edition of the Festival, will be screened in their original versions (with Italian and English subtitles) at the Padriciano Campus of Area Science Park (Conference Hall) and will be preceded by a conversation with a scientist who will discuss one of the scientific themes underlying the film. Three screenings are scheduled, all on Mondays at 6:00 p.m.
The films being screened are:
- U ARE THE UNIVERSE Scheduled for March 24
- MARS EXPRESS Scheduled for April 14
- LOLA Scheduled for May 12.
The events are free and open to everyone, provided you register for each individual performance.
In addition, a light reception will be held for all participants before the meeting, starting at 5:15 p.m.
