1973. A love that is stranger than King Kong’s
“Schlock”, directed by John Landis, is an acute satire of the consumerist society in a science-fiction style. It is awarded the Asteroide d’oro in the 1973 edition. Landis, being ironic about horror and science-fiction films, evokes King Kong and makes the ape-man Schlock fall in love with Mindy, a young girl.
