L’ultimo film diretto dall’icona del cinema exploitation Roger Corman narra una storia piacevolmente bizzarra di viaggi nel tempo, tratta dal romanzo di Brian Aldiss. Nel 2031, lo scienziato Dr. Buchanan ha sviluppato un raggio di particelle distruttivo che spera sia l’arma perfetta. Invece, apre un varco temporale che lo trasporta nella Ginevra di inizio Ottocento, dove incontra Victor Frankenstein, che ha appena creato un mostro deforme. Buchanan ha forse trovato un’anima gemella, dato che entrambi gli scienziati hanno piegato le leggi della natura? Il suo incontro ravvicinato con la scrittrice proto-femminista Mary Shelley, il suo futuro marito poeta e Lord Byron potrebbe rispondere a questa domanda.

In 2031 scientist Dr. Buchanan has developed a destructive particle beam he hopes is the perfect weapon. Instead, it opens up a time rift transporting him to early 19th century Geneva where he meets Victor Frankenstein who has just created a misfit monster. Has Buchanan found a kindred spirit because both doctors have bent the laws of nature? His close encounter with proto feminist author Mary Shelley, her poet husband-to-be and Lord Byron might just answer that question.

Dopo aver studiato ingegneria, Roger Corman entra nel mondo del cinema come produttore nel 1953 ed esordisce come regista nel 1955. Attivo soprattutto nel campo dei film horror a basso costo, divenne celebre per la sua serie di film tratta dai racconti di Edgar Allan Poe con Vincent Price. Personalità eclettica e instancabile, Corman è regista, sceneggiatore, produttore e distributore. Ha anche il merito di aver scoperto autori come Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, Joe Dante e molti altri.

After taking a degree in engineering, Roger Corman goes into movies as a producer in 1953, making his directing debut in 1955. His output was especially prolific in low-budget horror films, with his cycle of Edgar Allan Poe adaptations – mostly starring Vincent Price – achieving cult status. A tireless, eclectic personality, Corman writes, directs, produces and distributes movies and is also a remarkable talent scout, giving career breaks to Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Peter Bogdanovich, Joe Dante and many others.
