The iconic Boris Karloff plays Doctor Laurence, a scientist who has discovered how to transfer the personality of one person into the body of another. As his research progresses, he takes on a female doctor as an assisstant to whom he has taken a fancy. When he finds out that she is in love with another man, he chooses the man to be the victim of his experiments and decides to transfer his own mind into that of the man whom she loves.
